On Monday April 13, 2026 I stopped at Lowes on Wadsworth to purchase a large amount of dirt for my new raised beds. I parked on the outer area in the parking lot and walked past the pallets as I headed to the garden area. I noticed a Miracle Grow Pallet that was open and stopped to look at the volume of the bag. An employee named RAM yelled at me and said ‘Stop opening the pallets!’ I told him I didn’t open the pallet. He continues to YELL at me to ‘not open the pallets!’ This continued on for several minutes. He was very angry and told me to get out of the area and go to the garden center. I told him I was not going to shop at Lowes. I did nothing wrong and at 67 years old, I don’t think I was a threat to his precious pallets. As I walked back to my car he continued to yell at me. I left. I called and spoke with the assistant manager, Will and he was very nice, apologized but never offered to call me back regarding his actions with the employee. The next day my partner went to the store to speak with the manager, Kerry to find out if there were actions taken against the employee. Her response was ‘it has been addressed.’ She was rude to my partner and would not discuss it further. All we were looking for was an apology for the rude, unnecessary behavior. We would have liked to be assured that this angry, rude employee would not do this to another customer. We will never go back to Lowe’s. It’s unfortunate for them because my partner is a contractor and spends about $250,000.00 at Home Depot/Lowe’s per year. We will take all our business to other home improvement businesses.

Never again. Tried to return an expensive item, with receipt in an unopened box, an item we had replaced with a different size. Wouldn't take it back, no store credit, nothing. We were assured when we bought the replacement that this wouldn't be an issue, but apparently it's "their policy" so it doesn't matter what were told. The manager was rude on top of it. Completely different experience from Home Depot and Floor and Decor, who were all very accommodating and friendly. We spent 25k between the three stores for our bathroom project, and we're more than happy to split that across two brands instead of three, for our 40k kitchen coming this year. ✌️

Man, for a supposedly small store, this place had massive showroom areas. Part of me thinks it was due to not having as much outdoors sections as many others out there. I suppose it has to deal with people not having homes to work on anymore. Regardless, we came in looking for plants and building materials, and we happen to get a few things here. But the topper to that, we were allowed to gather some of the wood remnants to use for small fillers in our projects down at The Mausoleum.

A good selection of sanded plywood and free ripping and cutting, if needed. They got veteran parking right up front too, along with a 10% discount on a lot of their material. My go to big box store!

*Edit* I stayed away for a year, tried again today, worse experience ever in a hardware store, for a few reasons. One being that they did not honor a price tag that an associate put in the wrong spot. STAY AWAY FROM LOWES IF YOU ARE A CONTRACTOR!!! Home Depot has been my hardware store of choice to operate my electrical business with. Today was another reminder why. I operate a business and Home Depot lets me return job supplies up to a year, where Lowe’s only offers 90 days. 365 day compared to 90 days is a huge difference when you are on multiple large jobs that make it stressful and difficult to return any left over supplies when finishing a project. Home Depot also allows you to return job supplies without a receipt for store credit, which Lowes does not. I will avoid Lowe’s at all cost after my experience today.
