I received great customer service from two employees in the lumber department at the Lowe's Washington, DC location at Dakota Crossing. Roshane carefully loaded plywood boards onto my cart and Albert cut them accurately for me. They were both professional and proactive with me. I truly appreciate their effort in helping me with my project.

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Lowe’s when purchasing a dishwasher, and I would strongly caution others before choosing them over competitors like Home Depot. To start, my dishwasher took two full weeks to arrive, which is already unacceptable. For comparison, Home Depot could have delivered the same appliance in about two days. I chose Lowe’s intentionally, but that decision quickly proved to be a mistake. The only positive part of this experience was the installation team. The two gentlemen who came out were professional, efficient, and respectful. However, during installation, one of them noticed that the dishwasher was dented. After spending $1,100, I made it clear I expected a product in proper condition. They agreed, took the damaged unit back, and informed me that Lowe’s would follow up. Shortly after, someone from installation (Andrew) called and assured me the issue would be resolved and that I would receive an update by Friday (5/1) with a new delivery timeline. That sounded reasonable—until today. Instead of a replacement, I received a call from a store representative telling me they needed to cancel my order and then call me back to process payment again. That makes absolutely no sense. This is a straightforward exchange: you replace the damaged item. Requiring a cancellation and repurchase creates unnecessary delays and forces me to wait for funds to be returned before I can even proceed. To make matters worse, Lowe’s already removed my old dishwasher, leaving me with nothing while they sort out their internal issues. This entire process has been inconvenient, poorly handled, and completely avoidable. Aside from the installers, the customer experience has been unacceptable. I will not be making future purchases with Lowe’s.

I’ve always had a great experience at Lowe’s, conveniently located right off US 50 and South Dakota Ave. NE. The store has everything you need for home improvement, including a full garden center, a comprehensive lumber center, a wide selection of appliances, hardware, and hand tools. It’s always well-organized and clean, and the staff is usually very friendly and helpful. They’re open every day from 6 AM to 10 PM, except on Sundays when they’re open from 8 AM to 8 PM. However, I had an unfortunate experience today. I stopped by to pick up a small item and decided to take a few photos of the store to leave this review. Unfortunately, I was approached several times and asked what I was doing, which started to make me feel uncomfortable. As a result, I decided to leave without making a purchase. I hope this is a rare situation, as I’ve generally had great experiences here in the past. I’ll continue to shop here for my home improvement needs, but I do hope the staff can be more mindful of making customers feel welcome, especially when they’re not doing anything out of the ordinary.

I have been going to this Lowes for years and recently had the most frustrating, horrible experience with their appliance sales and delivery team. The appliance sales representative in the store started by ignoring us and another couple while talking with another associate. We ended up leaving the store and ordering the dishwasher online. The dishwasher we chose specifically because it had 2-day delivery and our dishwasher had broken and we had guests arriving soon. The dishwasher was not delivered within two days and my husband had to reschedule a trip to be able to come back early to have the dishwasher delivered and installed a week late. In the middle of the night before the day of delivery while he was already flying back, they rescheduled the delivery to the next day (more than a week late). They said they would specifically deliver it in the morning so our guests would have a dishwasher. They didn't even get that right and scheduled it for the afternoon and informed us that they wouldn't be installing it either. At this point, we had to tell our guests there would be no dishwasher for their stay. The delivery team said the delivery cost would be refunded along with $100. We have not received either of these refunds. Ultimately, when they delivered the dishwasher it turned out not to come with installation and we had to find installers and deal with that by ourselves even though the sign at Lowes said the "promotion" came with installation. Worst experience I have ever had with a business. Do not recommend going with them for appliance delivery or installation. Dishonest, rude, and unhelpful.

This place is great. I was in yesterday and interacted with a couple employees who were friendly and helpful. It just has a better, more welcoming feel than the other big hardware store in town. Whenever I've needed to talk to someone at this store it's been a good experience.
