I really like Lowe's, but they are like 20 plus miles from my house. So it's the trade-off of going to Alamo lumber here in Wharton or driving to Rosenberg to go to the Lowe's and with gas prices the way they are these days it's almost better to just go to Alamo. But those are my issues, Lowe's as a home improvement outlet is top of the line.

There were no open check outs. It was ALL self service. To add insult to injury, the scanners at most of the self checkouts were broken. SMH - My elderly mother and I went to purchase potting soil. Can't scan it, because the system is broken. So I had to lift over 30 lbs several times. To lift the huge bags of soil over the scanner at the checkout. There was an attendant. Just 1 - who was assisting pretty much all of the customers who had heavy items like me. And could not physically pick them up to scan them. After several minutes waiting for someone to come assist my mother. I was very annoyed at the poor service and lack of customer service assistance. It was not the attendants fault. She was great and did the best she could. I don’t think I'll shop here anymore. Which is sad because I used to like the store. I can't send my elderly mother alone there anymore. 😔 Update -- as a last resort I stopped to purchase cold weather plumbing insulation. The associate was very helpful and friendly. There were check out lanes open this time. I have upgraded my star review according to my experience. 2nd Update - This one was a pleasant experience as well. I was glad to see all of the equipment at the checkout was working 💪

This review is for the rude lady at the returns desk. I come to this Lowe's for all my home renovations and garden needs because I live in the area. I have never returned anything to Lowe's until yesterday. I bought a few bags of garden rocks and after laying a hand full of rocks down, I decided it did not go with my garden pavers. I returned them unaware of Lowe's policy that they do not accept returns on open items (which is different from Home Depot's policy). My dad who was with me said that that is different from Home Depot. In which the rude lady responded with "we are clearly not Home Depot". Her demeanor and response was rude and uncalled for. A simple response such as "we're sorry, Lowe's does not accept returns on open products" to inform customers of company policy. I understand that Company policy is way above her pay grade, but providing quality customer service is at the employee level and she did not provide superior customer service. And while the situation of not being able to get our money back sucks, the customer experience should make us want to come back and shop again. This has been shared with Lowe's corporation.

Every time I give this store a chance they let me down. Their system is so worried about protecting theft that they can't correct errors when they make mistakes. So don't expect for these problems to be corrected. They will just tell you sorry and to have a nice day over and over again while you leave without any help. No report, no documentation, no offering to take the issue up with the store director to see if anything could be done. Just a blank stare with no smile from a woman who blatantly ignored me and talked to the person at the register, instead of asking me what she could help with. And when I stated my complaint, she responded to the other person by asking "what it is that he wants", instead of having the courtesy to ask me directly. Rude, unacceptable, unprofessional, and explains why there's less inventory on the shelves, less help, higher prices, and less stores opening every day. Mark my words, I will not step foot in the store ever again. I will also make sure that nobody on our corperate team is allowed to shop here for our company either. We are canceling our credit line as well.

Erkia helped me out in a tight spot. I left my wallet at home, 20 min drive each way. So I though to place an order online. Perfect! I though, but I did the dumb thing and ordered the paint to another store. Erika helped walk me through getting the order transferred to the store I was in and getting the situation handled. Thank you so much!
